Beautiful and working perfectly now
I am pleased to amend my previous review and give this game the 5 stars it deserves. This game is a joy, artistically, as any hidden object offering worth anything must be. Whimsically rendered scenes hide objects that are often quite challenging to find, and not because they are too dark to be found. Add to that the unique component of needing to observe the scenes from varying perspectives (pan to see behind objects), and literally a new dimension to play is added. This is a welcome change to a genre I love but which tends towards an over-worn familiarity sometimes. There are the occasional spot the difference mini-games to mix things up a bit. The puzzles, in the form of figuring out how to combine several inventory objects in order to progress, are icing on the cake, however. This is well-worth the money, and quite a bargain in comparison to much of the competition, which aren't games that necessarily warrant higher price tags. Still on the fence? Go online and play the trial version, available on several sites. Kudos to the developers, who, with iPad now in hand, will hopefully release the other episodes in the near future!
Old Review (only the positive aspects now apply!):
The reviewer who noted that the game repeatedly quits is correct. I have a 64GB iPad, which has been restarted after installing the app, and the game quits each time you try to move to a new room. I decided to quit after the jail cell to save my progress, and that worked. However, if you try to continue, the app quits. It's a beautiful game that I also have on pc, so I figured I would just keep this strategy up. Well, it does not work once you need to leave the jail and head into town for chapter 2. Here the game becomes unplayable until a fix is released. No amount of restarting can get you beyond this point. Once that issue is resolved, it will certainly be a five star game. The artwork is beautiful and you are required to find objects by searching from different perspectives (panning to see behind and around other objects). This is quite unique and the iPad is perfect for searching in such a clever manner - or will be once the memory leak or whatever the glitch, is fixed. For now, 2 stars, which I cannot wait to change to the 5 I know it deserves, when working!
